We’re looking for a highly experienced Controller to join a large, publicly traded company, bringing deep expertise in complex accounting, financial governance, and strategic decision-making. This position demands exceptional public-company knowledge, strong professional communication skills, and the confidence to lead in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Prior public accounting experience with a national firm is required. As a key financial leader, you’ll serve as a visible and trusted advisor to the board, audit committee, and executive leadership—playing a critical role in shaping the organization’s financial integrity, evaluating risk, and guiding decisions that influence the company’s long-term success.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all aspects of corporate accounting and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and full compliance with SEC, GAAP, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
- Serve as a key financial voice in board and audit committee meetings, presenting insights that inform high-level strategy and governance.
- Partner closely with the CFO, CEO, and executive leadership team to guide decisions on financial performance, risk management, and capital structure.
- Collaborate with operations and business unit leaders to translate financial data into actionable strategies that drive efficiency and profitability.
- Support investor relations through preparation of accurate and clear materials for earnings calls, shareholder communications, and SEC filings.
- Drive M&A due diligence, integration efforts, and consolidation planning to ensure seamless financial transitions.
- Oversee financial systems design, process improvements, and technology implementations that enhance accuracy, automation, and scalability.
- Manage and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Represent finance in cross-functional leadership forums, championing data integrity and strategic decision-making across the organization.
Who You Are
- 15+ years of experience including time with a national public accounting firm and dynamic industry leadership positions.
- CPA required.
- Experience in a leadership role (Controller, VP of Accounting, etc.) for a publicly-traded company is required.
- M&A experience required.
- Strategic thinker with proven success driving process improvements, system implementations, and organizational transformation.
- Collaborative, decisive, and motivated by developing high-performing teams and scalable financial infrastructure.
