We are looking for a strong minded, competent and ambitious Senior Financial Manager to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing strategic financial functions across the portfolio. The role also provides key support to the asset manager in project feasibility assessments for new developments, acquisitions, and disposals.

In addition, the candidate will drive innovation through the effective use of technology, enhancing financial systems, controls, and processes within our property management environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Financial management and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Funder and key stakeholder liaison
  • Provide assistance to the asset manager
  • Support year-end audit and statutory reporting processes

 

Asset management support

  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for major developments
  • Develop financial models including rental projections, cost structures and return assumptions
  • Prepare and review covenant calculations for bank reporting and submissions
  • Conduct sensitivity analyses (vacancy, escalation, cost inflation, funding assumptions)
  • Oversee the reporting process and review of hotel portfolio performance
  • Evaluate and analyse hotel budgets and forecasts to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
  • Support feasibility assessments and pre-opening planning for new hotel developments

 

Innovation and technology enhancement

  • Champion innovation in the finance function through technology, automation, and system enhancement
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve efficiency, strengthen financial control, reporting, and decision-making
  • Lead continuous improvement of financial processes and systems

 

Debtor management

  • Lead and manage the full debtor function across the portfolio
  • Oversee monthly billing cycles, ensuring completeness and accuracy
  • Monitor arrears and rental collections, whilst enforcing credit control policies
  • Engage with tenants on escalations, turnover rentals and assist with resolving queries
  • Work closely with legal and leasing teams on tenant handovers, arrears, etc

 

Minimum requirements

  • BCom Accounting / Finance (CA(SA) advantageous)
  • 7–10+ years’ experience in property finance
  • Strong expertise in MDA Property Manager is essential with a proven track record in debtor management and billing
  • Experience managing large property portfolios (retail/commercial/residential)
