The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to step in as the first dedicated finance hire within a fast-scaling private equity platform, positioned at the centre of the business and working directly alongside senior leadership.
You’ll take full ownership of the finance function from day one, with exposure across fund and corporate finance, strategic decision-making, and investor engagement. The role offers genuine breadth from building robust financial infrastructure to supporting fundraising and new product initiatives.
Crucially, this is not just a head of finance position. It is a clear pathway to a future CFO role, suited to someone ambitious, confident, and looking to grow with the business as it scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of the finance function across the group and SPV structures
- Leading month-end close, management accounts, and balance sheet oversight
- Managing and challenging third-party administrators on SPV accounting outputs
- Overseeing financial reporting, tax compliance, and VAT processes
- Driving budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Producing high-quality investor and performance reporting
- Owning the audit process and managing external auditor relationships
- Partnering with the technology team to enhance reporting and automate workflows
- Supporting strategic initiatives, including the structuring of new facilities and commercial projects.
Candidate Profile
- ACA qualified (top-tier training must), with a strong academic track record (must have a first-class degree)
- Technically strong across accounting, controls, and financial reporting
- Experience within financial services – ideally private equity, venture capital or private credit/debt.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities
- Confident, commercially astute, and comfortable operating as a true business partner
- Hands-on, proactive, and thrives in a high-growth, evolving environment
- Strong communicator, capable of engaging effectively with senior stakeholders
