Pay Rate: $60–70/hr (W2)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Senior Business Analyst to support data-driven decision-making within a leading utility organization. This role focuses on advanced data analysis, reporting, and business intelligence, with a strong emphasis on SQL, Power BI, and Excel.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the energy/utility sector, strong communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze complex datasets to develop insights, reports, and predictive models that support business strategies
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI, SQL, and Excel
  • Develop and track KPIs, metrics, and performance indicators
  • Perform advanced data analysis including what-if scenarios and trend forecasting
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Support regulatory reporting and analytical modeling using large datasets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and deliver data solutions
  • Manage small to mid-sized projects, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Respond to internal and external data requests with accuracy and efficiency

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in data analytics or business analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in:
  • SQL (data querying and modeling)
  • Power BI (dashboarding & visualization)
  • Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, modeling, analysis)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the utility or energy industry (highly preferred)
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and BI tools (e.g., SAS, Business Objects)
  • Experience with Power Automate and Microsoft Project
  • MBA or relevant graduate degree
  • Familiarity with regulatory reporting and compliance environments
