Mac Kenzie King are excited to be recruiting an Interim Financial Accountant (18 months) to join a well-established business, based North of Colchester. As an Interim Financial Accountant , you will be working with a collaborative finance team and play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and supporting a range of transformation initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Financial Accountant who enjoys combining technical accounting expertise with process improvement and project work.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Take ownership of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting requirements. Prepare and post journals with minimal supervision. Support the preparation and completion of statutory accounts and group reporting submissions. Perform reconciliations of debtor, creditor and intercompany balances across multiple entities. Produce and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisers and other key stakeholders, providing documentation and responding to queries as required.
Ensure accounting policies, controls and governance requirements are applied consistently. Lead and support finance improvement projects, including systems enhancements and process optimisation initiatives. Mentor and support junior team members where required, with potential line management responsibilities. Key Skills & Attributes:
Essential:
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). Minimum two years’ post-qualification experience. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using financial systems. Excellent understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting requirements. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to influence stakeholders and build positive working relationships. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Desirable:
Previous audit and assurance experience. Experience working within a shared services, multi-entity or group reporting environment. Exposure to finance systems implementation or process improvement projects.
