Summary:
The Finance Decision Support (FDS) Business Partner Specialist plays a pivotal role within the Finance Decision Support team, supporting the Senior Manager, Finance Business Partner for Commercial CBU, EBU & Wholesale, Telecel Cash, and S&D. This role focuses on delivering high-impact financial and commercial insights to drive strategic decision-making across the EBU and Wholesale units. By leveraging advanced financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis, the specialist ensures that financial considerations are embedded in business decisions affecting profitability, cost efficiency, and customer value. The position requires close collaboration with commercial teams, FP&A, and operational units to deliver accurate reporting, budgeting, and performance analysis, while promoting a cost-conscious culture and supporting revenue assurance and collections targets. The role is critical in enabling data-driven strategies that align with overall business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Run financial analysis to support business cases for new products, customer requests, and solution deployments.
- Assess the bottom-line impact of commercial proposals and decisions on the business’s P&L.
- Apply investment appraisal techniques (NPV, payback, IRR, ROI) to guide investment and strategic decisions.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the EBU end-to-end cost base, including monthly accruals and variance explanations.
- Identify and drive efficiency opportunities and cost-saving initiatives across the commercial unit.
- Partner with Revenue Assurance, Billing Operations, and Billing Integrity teams to ensure revenue integrity.
- Prepare executive-level reports, including NCBC Board financial statements, segment profitability, and ad hoc analyses.
- Collaborate with the FDS EBU Manager to develop EBU budgets (revenue and cost) with aligned KPIs, based on input from commercial units.
- Deliver monthly variance analysis for revenues, KPIs, and costs, highlighting key performance drivers.
- Support receivables analysis, including ageing reports, collection performance vs. targets, customer reconciliations, and data accuracy.
- Work with FP&A to set and cascade annual collections targets across EBU and O2C teams.
- Assist in determining optimal pricing for strategic deals and value propositions.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly product profitability analysis to ensure pricing and margins remain sustainable.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a comparable field.
- Qualified or part-qualified ACA/ACCA accountant or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or a finance-related role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, competing priorities effectively.
- Telecom industry experience is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid understanding of financial transactions and accounting principles.
- Experience in reconciliation, reporting, and ERP accounting systems is highly desirable.
