About the Role:
We are partnering with a publicly traded, inventory-driven company in Orange County on a search for a Vice President of Accounting & Finance to lead enterprise-wide accounting operations. This individual will oversee a large, multi-layered team and serve as a key partner to the C-suite, driving financial reporting, internal controls, and inventory/cost accounting across a complex, multi-site environment. The ideal candidate will bring a CPA, a foundation in public accounting, and significant experience leading accounting functions within publicly traded or private equity-backed organizations.

Responsibilities:
- Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, close, consolidations, and financial reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) in compliance with US GAAP
- Oversee all inventory and cost accounting, including standard costing, variance analysis, and reserves
- Partner closely with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure accurate inventory valuation and controls
- Drive cycle count programs, physical inventory processes, and inventory reconciliations across multiple locations
- Ensure proper accounting for inventory (raw materials, WIP, finished goods) and cost of goods sold
- Oversee and enhance SOX compliance, particularly around inventory and operational controls
- Lead technical accounting for complex areas including inventory capitalization, excess/obsolete reserves, and purchase accounting
- Manage and develop a high-performing, multi-layered accounting team, including cost accounting resources
- Drive process improvements, automation, and ERP optimization related to inventory and reporting
- Serve as primary liaison with external auditors, particularly around inventory and cost accounting areas
- Support M&A activities, including inventory diligence and integration of acquired operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent directly related work experience.
- Management experience is required
- CPA license (inactive or active)
- Inventory-based OR Healthcare adjacent industry experience
- Public Accounting (nice to have)
