A high-growth real estate fintech is looking for a VP of Operations to lead its production organization across underwriting, processing, and closing.
The company needs someone who can manage managers, improve operational performance, build scalable processes, and use data to increase volume without sacrificing quality or customer experience.
This person will own day-to-day operational performance across the production funnel, with a focus on volume, quality, speed, team accountability, and customer experience. The business is scaling, so the role needs someone who can run the current operation effectively while also building stronger processes, better reporting, and a more scalable operating model.
This is a leadership role for someone who has managed managers, understands high-volume financial services operations, and is comfortable working in an early-stage environment where priorities move quickly.

What You’ll Own
- You will lead the teams responsible for underwriting, processing, and closing, ensuring the business consistently hits its production, quality, and service-level goals.
- You will manage and develop production leaders, helping them improve team performance, coach individual contributors, manage capacity, and create stronger accountability across the operation.
- You will set clear operational priorities, translate company goals into team-level execution, and make sure managers and teams understand what success looks like week to week.
- You will use data to identify bottlenecks, forecast capacity, monitor funnel health, and make practical decisions around staffing, workflow, and process improvement.
- You will improve the way the production organization operates, including workflows, handoffs, reporting, team structure, and the use of systems such as Salesforce.
- You will partner closely with Product, Finance, Risk, and People teams to improve visibility, implement new processes, and ensure the operation can scale without creating unnecessary friction.
- You will support the execution of risk and underwriting policies, including guideline updates, exception processes, and the operational rollout of changes across the business.
- You will lead teams through change, including new technology, process updates, policy changes, and organizational growth.
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of operations leadership experience in mortgage, real estate finance, home equity, fintech, consumer lending, or broader financial services.
- Experience leading managers who oversee production teams, ideally in a hybrid or remote environment.
- Strong understanding of production operations, including workflow management, capacity planning, quality control, performance management, and operational reporting.
- Strong analytical ability, with hands-on experience using Excel, Google Sheets, Salesforce, dashboards, and performance reporting to manage a production funnel.
- A track record of improving operational performance by fixing bottlenecks, strengthening processes, and building teams that can handle higher volume.
- Comfort working cross-functionally with senior stakeholders across Product, Risk, Finance, People, and Executive Leadership.
- Experience operating in a growth-stage or early-stage business where structure is still being built and the role requires ownership, pace, and practical problem-solving.
- A hands-on leadership style. This is not a purely strategic role; the right person will be close to the numbers, the process, and the team.
Compensation
This role offers a senior level compensation package, including base salary and performance-based bonus.
