About the Opportunity

Our client, a privately held real estate investment office with a global portfolio spanning retail, office, residential, and other asset classes, is seeking a Vice President of Finance to serve as a key leader overseeing all accounting, reporting, and operational finance functions. Reporting directly to the principals, this highly visible role will own a broad scope of financial activities, supporting both real estate and strategic non-real estate investments while acting as the primary interface with investors, auditors, lenders, and internal teams. The position offers significant responsibility and growth potential in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of financial accounting and control across a diverse, multi-entity real estate and investment portfolio
  • Oversee cash management, including accounts payable and receivable, bill payment, expense allocation, intra-company reconciliation, and cash forecasting
  • Lead investor relations activities, including the preparation and distribution of investor communications, capital calls, account statements, K-1s, and quarterly distributions
  • Administer the Investor Portal and ensure timely deliverables related to payments, reporting, and compliance
  • Collaborate closely with principals and the investment team to evaluate and execute strategic investment initiatives beyond real estate holdings
  • Structure and execute real estate transactions, supporting fundraising, acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and 1031 exchanges
  • Supervise annual entity reporting, creation of new entities, and completion of entity-level filings
  • Act as primary liaison with external auditors and tax professionals for annual returns and regulatory filings
  • Prepare and oversee operational and capital budgets, and handle recurring compliance deliverables for lenders, custodians, and taxing authorities
  • Lead and manage the review of administrative work and oversee audit and tax processes
  • Support ongoing process improvements to elevate reporting standards and operational efficiency

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required; CPA strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in accounting or finance, with substantial exposure to real estate transactions and structures; experience on both public and private sides preferred
  • Hands-on expertise in real estate partnership accounting, fund mechanics, investor reporting, capital calls, K-1 preparation, and 1031 exchanges
  • Prior experience managing multiple entities and high transaction volume in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to execute work independently and efficiently
  • Exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to professionally interface with investors, lenders, auditors, and advisors
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with QuickBooks, Yardi, AppFolio, or comparable platforms desirable
  • Track record of leading audit and tax processes, reviewing administrative work, and delivering process improvements
  • Ability and eagerness to grow within the organization; stable career trajectory preferred

The annual base salary range is $150,000 to $250,000. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of offer.
