Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role based in Ljubljana, with the possibility to work from home part of the time. The Tax Consultant will provide tax advisory services to local and international clients, including tax planning, tax compliance, and tax preparation across various tax regimes. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing tax legislation, assessing client tax positions, preparing and reviewing tax returns, and supporting clients during tax audits and interactions with tax authorities. The role involves researching complex tax law issues, drafting clear advisory reports and memoranda, and collaborating with audit and advisory teams to deliver integrated solutions. The Tax Consultant will also contribute to internal knowledge sharing, participate in client meetings, and help identify opportunities to optimize clients’ tax strategies in line with current regulations.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in tax planning and tax compliance to support strategic and day-to-day client needs.
- Hands-on experience with tax preparation and tax audits, including documentation, analysis, and communication with tax authorities.
- Solid understanding of tax law, with the ability to interpret and apply regulations to complex client situations.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certification or progress toward certification (e.g., tax advisor, CPA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to non-specialists.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, managing multiple client engagements and deadlines.
- Proficiency with tax and accounting software and good general IT skills (e.g., Excel, document management tools).
- Experience with Central European tax systems or international tax issues is beneficial; fluency in local language and good command of English are preferred.
