We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to join our clients growing finance team. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong corporate accounting experience who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys contributing to accurate financial reporting and continuous process improvement.
The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the month-end close, maintaining the integrity of financial records, and partnering cross-functionally to ensure timely and accurate financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and internal management reports
- Analyze financial data and investigate variances or discrepancies
- Support audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting and reporting issues
- Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Perform ad hoc reporting and special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2–5+ years of corporate accounting experience (public + industry mix is a plus)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting processes
- Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Net Suite, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a multi-entity or high-growth environment
- Exposure to audit support and internal controls
- Experience improving accounting processes or systems
