Alef Group is a pioneer in developing premier lifestyle communities, destinations, and experiences through investment and strategic joint ventures, and is seeking a bilingual and experienced Senior Manager – Retail Delivery to lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of retail and mall development projects and join the team in Sharjah.
Job Purpose:
The Senior Manager – Retail Delivery will lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of retail and mall development projects, ensuring timely execution, cost efficiency, quality compliance, and alignment with commercial leasing strategies, thereby enabling successful asset activation and revenue generation.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of retail development projects to ensure delivery within approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with design, leasing, and commercial teams to align project delivery with tenant requirements and leasing strategies, ensuring optimized retail mix and occupancy readiness.
- Manage consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure adherence to contractual obligations, specifications, and project milestones.
- Oversee the review and approval of design drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals to ensure compliance with project standards and retail functionality.
- Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs without compromising quality, functionality, or brand positioning.
- Monitor project progress through regular reporting and site inspections to identify risks and implement corrective actions for timely completion.
- Ensure compliance with local authority regulations, health & safety standards, and statutory approvals to achieve smooth project execution and handover.
- Facilitate tenant coordination and fit-out processes to ensure timely store openings and seamless integration into the mall environment.
- Control project budgets and cash flow forecasts to ensure financial discipline and alignment with approved business plans.
- Implement project governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Support asset management and operations teams during project handover to ensure smooth transition and operational readiness.
Engage stakeholders, including senior management, investors, and partners, through regular updates to ensure transparency and alignment.
Educational Qualifications, Work Experience, and Skills Required:
Educational Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field (mandatory).
- Master’s Degree in Project Management or Business Administration (preferred).
- Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), MRICS, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Relevant certifications in health & safety (e.g., NEBOSH) are an advantage.
Work Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 12–15 years of experience in real estate development and construction with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing retail, mall, or mixed-use developments.
- Must have proven experience in delivering large-scale retail projects (shopping malls, retail centers, lifestyle destinations) in the UAE or GCC region.
- Must have a strong exposure to tenant coordination, retail fitouts, and leasing integration.
- Should have demonstrated experience in managing end-to-end project lifecycle from concept to handover.
Skills required:
- Strong knowledge of retail development lifecycle and mall operations requirements.
- Expertise in project management methodologies, budgeting, and cost control.
- Familiarity with UAE regulatory frameworks, authority approvals, and compliance standards.
- Ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Strategic thinking with strong commercial acumen.
- Problem-solving mindset with proactive risk management capabilities.
- High attention to detail and quality orientation.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools is an advantage.
