Client Profile
Our client is a boutique Clinical Research Organisation (CRO) with a global footprint and a growing presence across Asia-Pacific (APAC). With continued regional expansion and increasing operational complexity, they are looking to appoint a hands-on Senior Finance Manager to lead finance operations and business partnering activities across multiple APAC markets.
This role is based in Kuala Lumpur and oversees their Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Australia team.
The Opportunity
This position will oversee end-to-end finance operations, financial planning, and regional reporting while partnering closely with operational stakeholders across APAC.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting commercial decision-making, managing revenue recognition processes, improving financial controls, and driving process optimisation initiatives across the region.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strong technical finance capabilities and the ability to coach and support a developing regional finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, management reporting, and regional financial operations.
- Oversee revenue recognition processes, project financial tracking, and reconciliation activities across regional business units.
- Partner closely with operational stakeholders on budgeting, forecasting, manpower planning, and financial performance management.
- Provide financial analysis and commercial insights to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
- Manage cash flow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and regional finance processes across multiple APAC entities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, statutory reporting, and tax requirements across jurisdictions.
- Support audit activities and maintain robust financial governance processes.
- Drive process improvement and finance transformation initiatives, including ERP and systems optimisation.
- Coach and support regional finance team members while helping uplift finance capability across the business.
- Support regional expansion activities, including entity setup and finance process implementation where required.
Candidate Profile
- Degree qualified in Accountancy, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
- Approximately 8+ years of relevant finance and accounting experience with exposure to regional finance operations.
- Strong experience managing full-spectrum finance functions including reporting, FP&A, and business partnering.
- Comfortable operating in both hands-on and strategic capacities.
- Prior exposure to healthcare, CRO, biotech, pharmaceutical, or project-based environments will be advantageous.
- Experience with revenue recognition and pass-through cost management is highly regarded.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across regional teams.
- Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and evolving regional environment.
