LHH has partnered with a private equity-backed real estate investment management firm that is seeking a Senior Associate to join their team. The role is finance focused with an emphasis on advanced modeling, but will require a background in accounting to be successful. Best suited for candidates with exposure to alternative investments.
Responsibilities
Financial Operations:
- Manage day-to-day accounting processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for the investment advisor and captive service providers.
- Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements for all entities.
- Support the development and maintenance of financial models, including revenue and expense projections.
- Monitor performance versus budget and forecast, providing variance analysis and insights.
- Prepare cash flow projections and assist with treasury management.
Reporting & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with third-party service providers and auditors on accounting and tax matters.
- Support the preparation of materials for capital raising, investor relations, and ad-hoc senior leadership requests.
Collaboration & Process Improvement:
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency in the application of legal agreements and business processes.
- Identify opportunities to enhance accounting and reporting workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in accounting or finance, preferably within real estate investment, private equity, or asset management.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis, modeling, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency with financial accounting software (Workday experience a plus) and advanced Excel skills.
- Experience integrating systems/processes preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
