LHH has partnered with a private equity-backed real estate investment management firm that is seeking a Senior Associate to join their team. The role is finance focused with an emphasis on advanced modeling, but will require a background in accounting to be successful. Best suited for candidates with exposure to alternative investments.

Responsibilities

Financial Operations:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for the investment advisor and captive service providers.
  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements for all entities.
  • Support the development and maintenance of financial models, including revenue and expense projections.
  • Monitor performance versus budget and forecast, providing variance analysis and insights.
  • Prepare cash flow projections and assist with treasury management.

Reporting & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with third-party service providers and auditors on accounting and tax matters.
  • Support the preparation of materials for capital raising, investor relations, and ad-hoc senior leadership requests.

Collaboration & Process Improvement:

  • Work with internal stakeholders to ensure consistency in the application of legal agreements and business processes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting and reporting workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in accounting or finance, preferably within real estate investment, private equity, or asset management.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, modeling, and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with financial accounting software (Workday experience a plus) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience integrating systems/processes preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
