Finance Manager Jobs in Greater Sydney Area at WiSE Specialist Emergency
Title: Finance Manager
Company: WiSE Specialist Emergency
Location: Greater Sydney Area
Company Description
WiSE Specialist Emergency is an innovative healthcare provider offering immediate, comprehensive, and specialised medical care for non-life-threatening conditions. Operating across emergency medicine, pathology, radiology, physiotherapy and dental, our clinics are staffed with experienced emergency physicians and a network of on-call specialists to provide fast and effective treatment, eliminating the need for external referrals and long hospital waits. Our focus is on delivering timely and coordinated care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.
The Group is in a build phase: scaling our network of clinics and operations, strengthening its finance function, and preparing for in-house statutory accounts and external audit for FY27.
Role Description
The Finance Manager is the senior finance leadership role in the Group. You will lead a finance team of three direct reports (Financial Accountant, AR Lead, AP Lead) and partner closely with the CFO Advisor, the Managing Director and the Board.
You will own the monthly close, management and Board reporting, budgeting and forecasting, tax and statutory compliance, treasury and banking, and decision support to operational managers across pathology, radiology and clinics.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop the AP Lead, AR Lead and Financial Accountant as a high-performing team.
- Sign off the monthly close and deliver timely, accurate management and Board reporting.
- Own the annual budget cycle and rolling cash flow forecasts.
- Lead the transition from outsourced to in-house statutory accounts and drive audit-readiness for FY27.
- Own Group tax compliance (BAS, FBT, PAYG, income tax) and external accountant and auditor relationships.
- Manage treasury, banking facilities, merchant arrangements and annual Group insurance renewals.
- Act as Xero administrator and own finance policies, controls and continuous improvement.
What You Will Bring
- Demonstrated experience leading the monthly close and consolidated reporting cycle across multiple legal entities.
- Expertise in Financial Analysis, Budgeting, and Forecasting.
- Proficiency in Accounting Principles and Financial Reporting.
- Knowledge of Tax, Regulatory Compliance, and Risk Management Practices.
- Strong working knowledge of Xero, including multi-organisation environments and administrator-level configuration.
- Advanced proficiency with Financial Software and Tools (PowerBI, Claude, Monday, Employment Hero).
- Strong Leadership and Team Management Skills.
- Excellent Analytical, Organisational, and Problem-Solving Skills.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CA or CPA preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Experience in Healthcare or a related industry is advantageous with knowledge of Patient Management Systems, Tyro, and Medicare billing.
- Self starter with excellent Project Management and Communication skills.
Why This Role?
This is a build role, not a maintain role. You will inherit a real plan with momentum behind it and a small, capable team. You will have direct line of sight to the CFO Advisor, the Managing Director and the Board, and the chance to professionalise a finance function that is critical to the Group's next phase of growth.
