About the Role
As a Senior Associate within CIMB Investment Bank Berhad’s Corporate Finance team, you will support the execution of advisory and corporate finance mandates from the pitch phase through to completion. You will work closely with senior bankers to coordinate workstreams and external advisers, perform financial analysis and valuation, and prepare client materials, transaction documentation, and submissions to relevant authorities in compliance with applicable requirements.
What You Will Be Doing
- Support day-to-day transaction execution across corporate finance mandates (e.g., M&A, IPOs, privatizations and takeovers, equity and quasi-equity fundraising, and advisory), including managing timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder coordination.
- Support due diligence workstreams (including data requests, Q&A coordination, and key issues tracking) and liaise with legal, accounting, and other advisers.
- Assist in drafting and preparing transaction documents and regulatory submissions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency in collaboration with stakeholders and external advisers.
- Assist in the preparation of pitches and proposals.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, M&A, capital markets, or equivalent transaction advisory roles.
- Strong project management and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, coordinate stakeholders, and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with deal teams, clients, and external advisers.
- Highly driven, analytical, and passionate about the profession.
- Client-oriented and solutions-driven, with strong stakeholder management skills and the maturity to handle sensitive information.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a deal team and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
