Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of TEMSA North America by managing general ledger activities, month-end close processes, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards. This role ensures accurate and timely financial data to support business decisions in a manufacturing and service-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals
- Maintain and monitor general ledger accuracy
- Assist in preparing financial statements and internal management reports
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed asset accounting
- Analyze financial results and explain variances to budget or forecast
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control policies
- Assist with audits (internal and external) by preparing required documentation
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes with Finance leadership
- Identify process improvements in accounting workflows and reporting systems
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar preferred)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required)
- 3–5 years of accounting experience
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage 50, or similar)
- Experience with Sales & Use Tax filing and 1099 preparation
- Proficient Excel skills
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
