GAC International Australia is entering a critical growth phase, and we are seeking a commercially driven and strategic Regional General Manager to lead performance across a key region.

This is a senior leadership role with end-to-end accountability for sales, market share, dealer network performance, customer experience, and brand execution. You will play a pivotal role in establishing GAC’s presence in market, shaping regional strategy, and building a scalable, high-performing dealer network aligned to our long-term vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and deliver regional sales, market share, and profitability targets
  • Develop and execute regional business plans aligned with national strategy
  • Take full accountability for marketing execution, channel development, and operational performance across the region
  • Lead, optimise, and strategically expand a high-performing dealer network, including appointment and onboarding of new partners
  • Build and maintain strong, influential relationships with Dealer Principals and senior stakeholders
  • Drive retail excellence, brand standards, and customer experience consistency across all touchpoints
  • Enhance aftersales performance, service capability, and long-term customer loyalty
  • Identify and deliver sustainable growth opportunities, including new markets, segments, and revenue streams
  • Oversee pricing strategy, stock planning, and supply-demand alignment to maximise performance
  • Monitor and optimise key KPIs across sales, aftersales, and network operations
  • Lead, coach, and develop regional teams, fostering a high-performance, accountable culture
  • Ensure dealer compliance with agreements, operational standards, and brand expectations
  • Provide data-driven insights, forecasting, and executive-level reporting to support strategic decision-making
  • Manage regional budgets, financial performance, and cost optimisation initiatives
  • Represent the region in leadership forums and contribute to national and global strategy discussions

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years’ experience within automotive OEM, importer, or dealer group environments
  • Proven leadership experience managing regional or multi-site operations, with full accountability for performance outcomes
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales growth, market expansion, and network performance in competitive markets
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with hands-on P&L ownership and budget management experience
  • Deep understanding of automotive retail, dealer economics, aftersales, and the end-to-end customer lifecycle
  • Experience in launching, scaling, or transforming automotive brands or dealer networks is highly regarded
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels, translating vision into execution
  • Highly developed stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence Dealer Principals and executive leadership
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience using data and insights to drive decision-making and performance improvement
  • A resilient, adaptable leader who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving, and growth-oriented environment
  • An entrepreneurial, hands-on mindset, with the ability to build structure, capability, and culture from the ground up
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, align, and elevate teams
