Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in the financial domain, combined with expertise in IT risk management, project budgeting, reporting, financial reconciliation, and practical use of AI-driven project tools. This role is responsible for end to end delivery of cross functional financial and technology related initiatives with strong governance and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities Project Management & Delivery

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of financial and risk-related projects.
  • Develop project charters, timelines, work breakdown structures, and governance plans.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams in finance, operations, technology, and compliance.
  • Ensure deliverables meet scope, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor technology and operational risks affecting financial processes.
  • Maintain risk registers, risk scoring models, and mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with IT security, compliance, and audit teams to address risk exposures.
  • Oversee compliance with regulatory frameworks (SOX, cybersecurity standards, audit controls).

Budgeting, Cost Control & Reporting

  • Create and manage project budgets, cost models, and funding forecasts.
  • Track actuals vs. budget, perform variance analysis, and flag deviations.
  • Prepare detailed financial and operational status reports for senior management.
  • Support vendor management and invoice validation.
  • Oversee reconciliation of project and operational financial data across ledgers and systems.
  • Ensure consistency across ERP systems, financial statements, and project reporting tools.
  • Investigate discrepancies and collaborate with finance teams to resolve mismatches.
  • Strengthen internal controls to improve reconciliation accuracy and audit readiness.

AI Tools & Automation

  • Leverage AI-powered project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Asana/Jira AI, Power BI AI insights) to:
    • Automate reporting and documentation
    • Summarize risk logs and financial data
    • Predict risks and cost overruns
    • Improve workflow efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for AI/automation integration to enhance project delivery.

Stakeholder Communication & Leadership

  • Manage relationships with business, finance, IT, vendors, and senior executives.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops, steering committee updates, and project briefings.
  • Provide clear communication of risks, dependencies, and project performance.
  • Drive consensus across diverse teams and ensure alignment on priorities.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 4–8+ years of experience in project management, specifically in financial services, banking, insurance, or capital markets.
  • Strong experience in IT risk, technology governance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven capability in budgeting, financial reporting, and reconciliation workflows.
  • Proficiency with AI-enhanced productivity tools and modern PM platforms.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Jira, Asana, or similar tools.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, CSM, or ITIL are an advantage.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience delivering regulatory or audit-driven initiatives.
  • Familiarity with financial products and operational processes.
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity and IT control frameworks.
  • Ability to lead multiple medium-to-large projects in fast-paced environments.
  • Knowledge of data analytics, dashboards, and KPI development.
