Role summary

CORSA is looking to connect with experienced Private Markets Business Analysts for a major investment platform transformation programme.

This role requires a specialist BA who can hit the ground running, understand the private markets investment lifecycle, engage confidently with senior stakeholders, and produce high-quality business analysis artefacts with minimal handholding.

This is not a generic BA or project management role. The successful candidate must have direct experience working across private markets, investment platforms, operating model design, business requirements, process mapping, data, reporting and vendor/system selection.

The role will work across the investment value chain: Front Office, Investment Operations, Finance, Data, Reporting and Technology.

Success means being able to step into a complex private markets transformation programme and quickly add value by producing clear, structured and decision-ready outputs.

The successful candidate will:

  • Understand private markets terminology, processes and operating models from day one.
  • Elicit and document detailed business requirements without needing basic domain training.
  • Map current-state and target-state processes across the private markets investment lifecycle.
  • Identify gaps across process, systems, data, reporting, controls and operating model.
  • Produce high-quality artefacts that can stand up to senior stakeholder review.
  • Support vendor evaluation and system selection with clear functional analysis.
  • Bring structure, clarity and pace to ambiguous business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business analysis across private markets investment platform transformation.
  • Elicit, define and document detailed functional and non-functional business requirements.
  • Analyse current-state processes, systems, data flows, controls and pain points.
  • Define target-state processes and contribute to target operating model design.
  • Produce clear process maps, requirements documents, gap analysis, decision papers and vendor evaluation materials.
  • Work directly with stakeholders across Front Office, Investment Operations, Finance, Data, Reporting and Technology.
  • Translate complex business problems into structured, actionable requirements and delivery artefacts.
  • Support RFP, vendor selection and platform evaluation activity, including requirements scoring, demo assessment and response analysis.
  • Analyse private markets data and reporting needs, including portfolio monitoring, valuations, performance metrics and management information.
  • Support traceability from business requirements through to solution design, testing, operational readiness and implementation.
  • Challenge assumptions, identify risks and provide practical recommendations.

Required qualifications and experience

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst in private markets, alternative investments or investment management.
  • Direct experience with private equity, private debt, venture capital, infrastructure, funds or fund-of-funds.
  • Strong understanding of private markets lifecycle processes, including commitments, capital calls, drawdowns, distributions, valuations, NAV, IRR, portfolio monitoring and reporting.
  • Experience working on investment platform, portfolio management system, IMS, IBOR, ABOR, data or reporting transformation.
  • Experience producing high-quality BA artefacts, including:
  • Business requirements
  • Functional requirements
  • Non-functional requirements
  • Process maps
  • Data flow analysis
  • Gap analysis
  • TOM inputs
  • Vendor evaluation materials
  • Decision papers
  • Experience working across Front Office, Investment Operations, Finance, Data, Reporting and Technology.
  • Experience supporting system selection, RFPs, vendor evaluation or platform implementation.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work with senior business users, SMEs, vendors and delivery teams.
  • Ability to operate independently in ambiguous environments and turn unclear business problems into structured outputs.
  • Strong documentation, analytical and communication skills.

Must-have tools

  • Microsoft Visio or equivalent process mapping tool.
  • Jira or equivalent delivery / requirements tracking tool.
  • Confluence, SharePoint or equivalent documentation platform.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Education and BA qualifications

  • Strong academic background expected.
  • Business analysis qualification strongly preferred, such as:
  • BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis
  • IIBA CBAP
  • IIBA CCBA
