Title: Director of Finance And Operations

Company: Randmar

Location: Laval, Quebec, Canada

About Randmar Founded in 1936, Randmar is a third-generation, modern Canadian distributor. We serve resellers across Canada with an AI-powered, self-serve platform that integrates seamlessly with stores like Shopify. With four warehouses across the country (Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton, and Vancouver) and thousands of products spanning technology to home lifestyle, we pride ourselves on flexible ordering and same-day shipping.

The Role We are looking for a highly strategic and commercially-minded Director of Finance & Operations. You will do more than just manage the books—you will be a key driver in optimizing our operations and serving as the financial face of Randmar. This role requires an externally facing leader who is comfortable acting as a business developer for the Finance department, actively networking, attending industry events, and building critical relationships with banks, institutions, and suppliers.

Note on Work Location: This role requires you to be in the office daily during the initial onboarding and integration phase. Once you are comfortable and fully integrated into our operations, you will transition to a flexible remote schedule, coming into the office only when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • External Leadership & Networking: Act as the primary financial liaison, meeting monthly with banks, attending accounting events, and driving "business development" for the finance department.
  • Financial Operations & Optimization: Continuously evaluate and improve our financial operations, internal controls, and systems to drive efficiency across a high-volume distribution environment.
  • Academy Involvement: Actively engage with students in our Academy, helping them understand core accounting principles and their working relationship with Randmar.
  • Reporting & Compliance: Manage the preparation of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with Canadian accounting standards.
  • Strategic Planning: Monitor cash flow, manage budgeting and forecasting processes, and provide data-driven insights to support leadership in strategic pricing and profitability initiatives.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise core financial processes including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; professional designation (CPA or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in finance and operations, ideally within the distribution, wholesale, or e-commerce sectors.
  • Strong track record of managing external financial relationships (banking and supplier credit).
  • Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in ERP software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with a strong sense of ownership over deliverables and work priorities.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Salary: $150,000 annual base salary (reviewed annually).
  • Performance Bonus: Annual bonus based on overall company performance and your success with new initiatives, reviewed and negotiated together at year-end.
  • Flexible Vacation: 4 weeks of default vacation time with a highly flexible approach (with the mutual understanding that work priorities and deliverables come first).
  • Group Benefits: Comprehensive management health benefits program insured by Medavie Blue Cross.
  • Professional Development: Strong internal support for your continued growth and external networking.
  • Equipment: Company-provided laptop to support your hybrid work environment.
