At TalentWealth Recruiting, we partner with independent wealth management firms nationwide to attract and place top-tier professionals. Our client, a highly respected independent wealth management firm in Madison, WI overseeing approximately $400 million in client assets, is seeking an experienced Portfolio Associate.
This role will partner with the firm’s Wealth Advisors to support the delivery of Investment Management Services, including portfolio management, investment analysis, recommendations, implementation, trading, and reporting.
Essential Job Functions:
● Conducts and documents all investment securities transactions, ensuring compliance with the firm’s investment policy
● Monitor client-specific, advice-driven investment strategies and solutions for individuals and families.
● Monitor client portfolios relative to their investment policy statement and work with the team to identify and address variances.
● Monitors and deploys new capital investments per instructions from Wealth Advisor
● Responsible for liquidity monitoring to maintain established portfolio allocation models
● Responsible for daily trading activities in discretionary, and non-discretionary portfolios and is
responsible for adhering to and documenting compliance with relevant regulatory policies and
procedures.
● Prepare regular investment reviews for existing clients, recommend, establish, monitor, and
● adjust, as necessary, investment strategies and solutions designed to achieve the client’s goals.
● Supports due diligence activities related to the investment portfolio, funding, and liquidity
● Supports and works closely with Wealth Advisor to invest capital
● Provides analytical data to support direction for the execution of critical projects related to balance sheet strategy, balance sheet optimization, and allocation, and regulatory policy initiatives
● Actively assist in the client onboarding experience and develop the Investment Policy Statement in accordance with the client’s unique situation.
● Develop and advise on investment recommendations and help transition new clients into collaborative and ongoing portfolio management and client communication cycle.
● Attend meetings and participate in presentations to clients as needed.
● Actively engaged in risk management.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred
● FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or combination 65 & 63)
● Demonstrated understanding of the fundamentals of finance and investment theory.
● Financial modeling skills for capital and liquidity measurement, valuation, bond laddering, etc.
● Excellent oral and written communication skills
● Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
● Preferred experience with SMartx, Pershing, Morningstar, and eMoney.
● Skilled in conducting data searches and evaluations of large amounts of information, performing complex statistical analyses of the data, and preparing concise and accurate reports and written/verbal recommendations.
● Advanced organizational skills, ability to multi-task effectively and meet deadlines.
● Strong analytic and communication (written and verbal) skills are a must.
