This is a newly created opportunity for a hands-on Management Accountant to take ownership of the finance function within a growing SME.
Working closely with the CEO and external accountants, you’ll step into a standalone role and play a key part in both day-to-day financial management and broader business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow)
- Weekly reporting across AP/AR, cashflow, and stock
- Month-end processes including journals, accruals, and reconciliations
- Cashflow forecasting and monitoring
- Budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling
- Providing insights on margins, costs, and business performance
- Managing BAS, payroll tax, FBT and compliance requirements
- Supporting year-end, audit, and external accountants
- Driving systems improvements (including Xero and evolving platforms)
- Transitioning manual processes into more efficient, scalable solutions
- Ad hoc reporting and business partnering with leadership
About You
- CA/CPA qualified with a Bachelor/ Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5+ years’ experience in a Management Accountant or similar role
- Strong Excel skills and experience with Xero or similar systems
- Comfortable working in a standalone, hands-on role
- Proactive, commercially minded, and solutions-focused
- Confident communicator who can engage with stakeholders
- No ego—willing to roll up your sleeves and get into the detail
Nice to Have
- Experience in SME or high-growth environments
- Exposure to system implementation or process improvement
- Experience with multi-entity structures or foreign currency
