SUMMARY:
We are seeking a female candidate with knowledge of the freight forwarding industry to join our client's team as a Junior Operations Assistant. The successful applicant will support a Senior Controller with day‑to‑day operational tasks and must be able to work under pressure, multitask effectively, and maintain strong attention to detail.
POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Registering files on Ship Shape
- Loading and batching documents for customs, port health/plant, and driver deliveries
- Tracking ETAs, export stacks, unpacks, and updating systems accordingly
- Requesting invoices from shipping lines/airlines
- Booking time slots with unpack depots for cargo collection
- Preparing clearing and transport instructions on Ship Shape
- Keeping senior controllers updated on shipment changes
- Alternating weekend/public holiday tracking duties with the senior controller via WhatsApp
Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of seafreight imports (training will be provided on air imports/exports if needed)
- Ship Shape system knowledge (advantageous)
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when required
- Reliable transport
- Excellent multitasking, accuracy, and communication skills
Working Hours:
- 08:00 – 16:30 (30‑minute lunch break)
This role involves supporting a VIP client, requiring consistent and accurate shipment tracking. The successful candidate will be offered a 1 year contract which will be renewed after 1 year should both parties agree too it.
