Role Description
The Head of Strategic Planning / Strategy Director / Senior Strategy Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing organizational strategy to drive growth, operational efficiency, and long-term business success. This role focuses on analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities, and guiding executive decision-making through strategic insights and planning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute corporate and business unit strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Lead strategic planning processes, including annual planning, budgeting, and forecasting
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and trend monitoring to inform strategic decisions
- Identify growth opportunities, business risks, and new initiatives
- Collaborate with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to implement strategic initiatives
- Monitor performance against strategic objectives and provide recommendations for improvement
- Prepare reports, presentations, and executive briefings for the board and senior management
- Lead strategic projects, mergers, acquisitions, and transformation initiatives as required
- Mentor and manage strategy teams, fostering analytical thinking and strategic problem-solving
- Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and adoption of best practices across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or related field (MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred)
- Proven experience in strategic planning, corporate strategy, or management consulting roles
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience managing cross-functional projects and leading strategic initiatives
- Knowledge of financial analysis, market research, and business performance metrics
- Ability to influence senior leadership and drive organizational change
- Familiarity with strategic frameworks, scenario planning, and competitive analysis
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
