Digicel Pacific is seeking applications from qualified professionals to join our Finance Department in Kavieng.
The Role
The Finance Executive will be responsible for the efficient execution of all finance functions while safeguarding cash and inventory. This includes timely reconciliation of flex cards obtained from Regional Directors (RDs) and ensuring daily banking activities are conducted. Sales details and acquittals will be accurately prepared and sent to SSC Fiji for review and posting.
Key responsibilities
- Reconcile daily roadshow stocks and cash by reviewing opening stock and sales against closing returned stock.
- Review reconciliations against expected sales and immediately flag any variances to the General Manager.
- Flag long outstanding roadshow stocks to the General Manager.
- Ensure no additional stocks are issued to Customer Executives (CEs) until all outstanding stocks are fully reconciled.
- Cash-in with Cellmoni and/or bank daily takings from roadshow sales and signed cash cheques.
- Submit Imprest, Petty Cash, and Opex (Cellmoni) acquittals weekly to the POM Treasury team for account replenishment.
- Ensure correct General Ledger (GL) codes are used in all acquittals.
- Investigate and resolve stock variances to eliminate recurring stock issues.
- Prepare and submit daily Stock on Hand (SOH) reports and stock movement reports to Finance in a timely manner.
- Conduct and manage month-end stock counts in the respective office or region.
- Reconcile physical stock counts against inventory records and address discrepancies.
Academic Qualifications, Experience & Skills required for this role:
- Degree/diploma is business, accounting or a related field;
- At least 1-year experience in a similar role.
- Good communication and customer service skills;
- Ability to work in a team and put forward finance improvements;
- Ambition to learn or develop;
- Honesty and trustworthy;
- Ability to work to tight reporting deadlines;
- Advanced excel skills
