TERNA ENERGY, member of Masdar Group, is seeking a:
Head of Statutory Reporting
Jobholder will be responsible for leading the preparation and delivery of statutory financial statements, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies. The role oversees statutory reporting processes, coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, and drives continuous improvements in financial reporting quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Managed monthly financial close and Group consolidation processes, including system uploads, intercompany elimination reviews, preparation of consolidation journal entries, and coordination with the Accounting Department to ensure the timely and accurate completion of the reporting cycle
- Quarterly preparation of Masdar Reporting Package by coordinating with cross-functional teams to collect the required information, resolving reporting-related queries, and ensuring the timely submission of all deliverables
- Preparation of interim (six -month) and annual (twelve-month) IFRS Financial Statements for both the Group and a listed Group entity. including developing reporting timetables, coordinating information gathering across departments, validating and preparing the DataCache, drafting the financial statements, and translating the Greek financial statements into English
- Coordinate with external statutory auditors throughout the interim review and annual audit processes, facilitating the timely completion of audit engagements and addressing audit requests
- Prepared financial reports, analyses, supporting documentation, and responses to requests for financial information from internal stakeholders, including Masdar and various business functions, as well as external stakeholders such as the Bank of Greece, financial institutions, and external consultants
- Support the accounting team in ensuring the accuracy, completeness and compliance of financial Reporting with IFRS requirements
- Contributed to the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Internal Control over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework
- Maintained and enhanced the Group's Chart of Accounts, including the creation and extension of General Ledger accounts
- Coordination of the opening and closing of accounting periods in SAP and SAP BPC and communicated the relevant timelines and status updates to the Accounting Department
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting or any other relevant field
- Master's degree and/or relevant professional qualification (e.g. Diploma in IFRS, ACCA) will be considered an asset
- Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, accounting, or relevant field
- Strong knowledge and practical application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with hands-on experience in SAP ERP and SAP Business Planning and Consolidation (SAP BPC)
