Overview
A leading manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced finance leader to head its Finance & Accounts function. The role will be responsible for driving financial strategy, planning, accounting, reporting, compliance, treasury, and commercial finance operations across the organization.
The position requires a strong finance professional with deep expertise in manufacturing finance, cost management, working capital optimization, governance, and strategic financial planning. The role will partner closely with business leadership to support organizational growth, operational efficiency, and long-term financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L management and financial performance reviews.
- Drive cash flow planning, working capital management, and liquidity optimization.
- Provide financial analysis and strategic insights to support business decision-making.
Financial Control & Accounting
- Oversee end-to-end accounting and finance operations across the organization.
- Ensure robust financial controls, accounting accuracy, and process governance.
- Monitor product costing, margin analysis, inventory controls, and operational profitability.
- Evaluate capital expenditure proposals and investment opportunities through ROI and financial viability analysis.
Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
- Partner with plant, operations, and business leaders to drive cost optimization and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Support strategic projects, expansion initiatives, and investment planning through financial assessment and analysis.
- Drive profitability improvement and financial discipline across business functions.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, taxation laws, audit requirements, and corporate governance standards.
- Strengthen internal controls, risk management frameworks, and financial governance practices.
- Liaise with auditors, financial institutions, banks, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure timely completion of audits, statutory filings, and regulatory reporting.
Treasury & Strategic Finance
- Manage treasury operations, banking relationships, and fund management activities.
- Drive working capital optimization and cash management initiatives.
- Support strategic transactions including fundraising, M&A, joint ventures, private equity engagements, or IPO readiness initiatives where applicable.
ERP & Financial Reporting
- Lead ERP-based financial reporting, MIS systems, and finance process digitization initiatives.
- Ensure timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, dashboards, and board presentations.
- Improve reporting accuracy, visibility, and decision-support capabilities through technology adoption.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance & Accounts team.
- Build a culture of accountability, transparency, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.
- Strengthen team capability, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness within the finance function.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) mandatory.
- 18–22 years of experience in Finance & Accounts leadership roles within manufacturing organizations.
- Strong expertise in accounting standards, taxation, compliance, costing, treasury, and financial controls.
- Experience in working capital management, budgeting, profitability analysis, and strategic finance initiatives.
- Exposure to ERP systems, automation, and finance digitization initiatives preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management, leadership, analytical, and business partnering capabilities.
- Prior experience leading large finance teams and interacting with senior leadership teams preferred.
