Job Overview and Responsibility

We are seeking an experienced and business-savvy Head of Finance to lead the financial strategy and operations of our fast-growing, multi-outlet organization. This is a critical leadership role for a candidate who not only brings strong financial expertise but also a deep understanding of operational execution, commercial priorities, and innovation-driven efficiency.

You will oversee all aspects of finance, drive financial planning and analysis, and collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders to shape data-driven decisions. A key focus will be identifying opportunities to improve operational and budget efficiency through innovation — including system enhancements, process improvements, and smart cost control.

Work Location: This position is open for both Hanoi (HN) and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC).

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the finance function of Apollo English, aligning financial management with company strategy and operational goals
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and risk mitigation
  • Partner with the Executive Team and key stakeholders to provide actionable financial insights that drive business performance and informed decision-making
  • Support strategic initiatives including pricing strategy, cost optimization, investment planning, and corporate restructuring

Operational Efficiency & Transformation

  • Drive operational and budget efficiency through finance innovation, digitization, and process enhancement
  • Lead finance transformation initiatives including automation, dashboard reporting, and data analytics adoption
  • Centralize finance operations while enabling autonomy at the branch level to balance consistency and flexibility
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls, compliance processes, and financial governance across all locations

Governance, Audit & Risk Management

  • Manage external relationships with auditors, tax authorities, bankers, legal advisors, and other key partners
  • Oversee audits, tax inspections, and ensure compliance with Vietnam Accounting Standards (VAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Strengthen governance frameworks and safeguard the company’s financial integrity

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing finance team across the organization
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning within the finance function
  • Mentor finance leaders, enhancing capabilities in FP&A, business partnering, and digital finance tools

Required Skills and Experience

  • 15+ years of finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role working directly with CEOs, Boards, or investors
  • Proven experience managing finance teams of 10+ people, with strong leadership, collaboration, and mentoring skills
  • Big 4 audit firm experience (KPMG, Deloitte, PwC, or EY) for at least 3 years is strongly preferred
  • ACCA is required
  • Industry experience in education, retail, or other multi-outlet businesses with nationwide operations is highly desirable
  • Skilled in standardizing financial operations, building internal controls, and driving efficiency across decentralized networks
  • Proficient in accounting systems, dashboard reporting, and data analytics; experience leading finance transformation projects is a plus
  • Solid experience managing audits, tax inspections, and external partnerships (banks, law firms, auditors, tax authorities)
  • Strong understanding of Vietnam Accounting Standards (VAS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Vietnamese, written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to M&A, due diligence, and corporate restructuring is advantageous
  • CPA or CFA certifications are a strong plus
