Industry leading, independent PR advisory firm with operations in London and abroad. This is an exciting time for the firm as it looks to expand and contemplates becoming part of a larger group. The Head of Finance is a newly created role that has come as a result of this planned growth. The business is managed on a day-to-day basis by the 6 Partners based across their offices and offers a very flexible, hybrid working model.
Main Responsibilities:
- Take overall responsibility for all aspects of financial reporting (internal and external) to ensure provision of timely and accurate financial information to the Partnership and Investors
- Lead cash flow forecasting, working capital management and credit control, ensuring commercial decisions support cash discipline
- Develop and report accurately against relevant metrics to assist the Partnership and Board in their strategic decision-making including client profitability reporting and staff utilisation
- Enhance and manage effective business planning, budgeting and forecasting processes and provide forward-looking commercial insight, highlighting risks and opportunities
- Take the lead on commercial contract negotiations with client procurement and legal teams, supported by the Partners
- Implement and manage systems to enhance the company’s profitability
- Ensure revenue recognition, cost of sales management, and reporting remains robust and compliant
- Supported by the Finance Manager, oversee payroll processing and approval of bank payments
- Manage the finance team (internal and external) to optimise their performance with one direct report
Person Specification:
- Qualified accountant (preferably ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- At least 5 years experience of in-house finance roles, of which at least two leading the finance function
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills honed through regular dealings with senior professionals
- First class analytical skills
- A self-starter, used to planning, initiating and implementing change
