About the role

Working closely with the Finance Director, this role has a strong payroll focus while also supporting broader day-to-day finance operations across the business. It will suit an all-rounder with experience across both payroll and finance, and is ideal for an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Officer or Finance Officer with end-to-end payroll experience looking to step up into a fast-growing, exciting organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • End-to-end monthly payroll for a growing employee base
  • Support across accounts payable, weekly payments, employee expenses and bank reconciliations
  • Management of PAYG withholding, superannuation, and payroll tax
  • Maintenance of employee records and employment contracts
  • Ensuring compliance with Fair Work, ATO, Superannuation Guarantee and STP Phase 2
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of payroll and finance processes as the business scales

About you

You will bring prior experience in a Payroll/Finance/Accounts Officer role, with payroll as a core responsibility. You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoy taking ownership while working closely with senior finance leadership.

You will have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce (ideally)
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in accounting or finance roles with strong payroll exposure
  • Experience supporting accounts payable and core finance functions
  • Intermediate Excel capability and confidence working with Xero
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and clear communication
