Purpose of the Role
We are supporting a well-established financial services organisation in the appointment of a Head of Finance. The successful candidate will lead the finance function and act as a key member of the senior leadership team, ensuring strong governance, effective controls, and high-quality financial oversight.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business and internal finance teams, you will support financial planning, performance management, and ongoing business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the finance function, ensuring strong governance, controls, and financial reporting standards
- Oversee month-end close, balance sheet integrity, reconciliations, and ledger accuracy
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and governance requirements
- Oversee statutory, tax, management, and performance reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Act as key contact for auditors and internal assurance stakeholders
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and planning cycles
- Provide financial insight, analysis, and challenge to support decision-making and business cases
- Monitor financial performance and support commercial decision-making
- Maintain a strong and compliant financial control environment, including risk and governance reporting
- Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team, including recruitment, succession planning, and capability development
- Foster collaboration across finance and wider business functions
Essential
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
- Significant senior finance leadership experience within financial services or regulated environments
- Previously held PCF 11
- Strong background in financial control, reporting, and/or FP&A
- Proven experience leading and developing teams
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience operating within regulated or structured governance environments
