Graduate Accounts Assistant Babraham, near Cambridge £24,000-£26,000 per annum We are working with an established biotechnology company, based on the Babraham Research Campus who are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accounts Assistant to join their Finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone starting their career in finance who is keen to learn and develop within a supportive, fast-paced environment.
The Role You’ll support the Accounts Payable function, helping to ensure supplier invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time. Working closely with colleagues across Finance and international teams, you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities Process supplier invoices, including logging, coding, and matching to purchase orders Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies with internal teams and suppliers Assist with BACS payment runs and ensure timely, accurate payments Reconcile supplier statements and review aged creditor reports Handle supplier queries via phone and email, building positive relationships Support credit card reconciliations and weekly reporting Assist with ad-hoc finance tasks as required About You Educated to degree standard (or equivalent);
finance-related study is a plus Strong attention to detail and good numerical skills Confident communicator, both written and verbal Organised and able to manage deadlines effectively Basic to intermediate Excel skills Positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn
