📍 Newcastle Upon Tyne (Office-based) | 💼 Permanent | 💰 £30,000 – £35,000 DOE
🧠 The Role
We’re looking for a Financial Controller to join a growing creative agency and play a key role in shaping the financial future of the business.
This is more than spreadsheets and reporting. You’ll be a trusted partner to the leadership team—helping drive smart decision-making, improving processes, and ensuring the business operates efficiently as it continues to grow.

🚀 What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support business growth and long-term goals 📈
- Develop and implement robust financial processes, controls, and policies
- Prepare and manage the annual operating budget
- Report quarterly on financial performance against budget, identifying opportunities and risks
- Manage debtors and credit control to ensure healthy cash flow
- Work closely with Directors and leadership teams on financial planning and compliance
- Oversee company bank accounts, payments, and payroll 💳
- Support project teams with financial insight to help maximise profitability
- Manage the preparation of annual accounts and statutory reporting
- Maintain and improve financial systems and processes
- Review supplier contracts and ensure strong commercial value
- Ensure the business meets all financial and legal obligations
🔍 What We’re Looking For
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (AAT or equivalent)
- Strong hands-on experience in day-to-day financial management
- Strategic mindset with the ability to improve and shape financial processes
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills 🤝
- Comfortable working closely with leadership teams and wider departments
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to problem-solving
