ROLE PURPOSE

This is an integral role in our finance team with the mandate to set up and drive positive change. Reporting to the Financial Controller, we are looking for a dynamic Financial Accountant who can be part of our team in the preparation of our financial reporting. This position requires a focus on process improvements with a view to implementing on time and accurate reporting every month.

Based in Eagle Farm in Brisbane, you will be responsible for providing reporting and analysis for our end of month financial reports. At RWC we operate as one global team, so you will be part of a broader group of finance professionals located in the UK and USA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work in a close-knit team to complete month end close. Prepare supporting schedules, & balance sheet reconciliations performed within the deadlines set. Lease accounting, prepayments and accruals. Fixed Asset Register management, capital work in progress, capitalising assets (including Low Value sweeps) and applying depreciation rates and useful lives in line with company policies.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and uploading of support into OneStream software.
  • Cash flow forecasting including managing outgoing payments
  • Assist with external and internal auditor’s requests, interim and end of year audits and walkthroughs.
  • Understanding of Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT) laws, supporting schedules and declarations needed. Coordination with others in the team to achieve a draft FBT return by the deadline set.
  • Maintain and develop processes and procedures within finance to support timely, accurate and efficient reporting whilst complying with company global and local policies and procedures.
  • Collating data for Australian Bureau of Statistics surveys and other reports as required.

  • You will hold a bachelor’s degree in commerce, economics or accounting
  • 5+ years of accounting, finance, or related experience
  • Membership of a professional accounting institution would be a distinct advantage.
  • Experienced in SAP S/4 HANA, OneStream (HFM), Oracle or similar accounting systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills for analysis and reporting, (pivots, lookups, nested formulas)
  • Advanced reconciliation skills
  • Analytical ability and effective communication skills across all levels of staff within the business
  • Adaptability and strong positive work ethic
  • Organized and able to meet deadlines.
  • Manage competing priorities under pressure.
