Finance Officer
Holy Rosary School is a two-stream co-educational institution catering to boys and girls from Three-Year-Old Kindy to Year Six. The role of Finance officer is primarily responsible for the financial; processing, administration and management of the school. Whilst listed as Full time the FTE will be confirmed with the successful applicant. A hybrid working arrangement will be considered.

Selection Criteria
Finance Officer – Key Responsibilities
The Finance Officer supports the Principal in managing school finances. The successful applicant will demonstrate relevant experience in the following areas:
Weekly Tasks
- Process and pay invoices with proper authorisation
- Enter casual and extra staff hours into payroll
- Record receipts (e.g., EFTPOS)
Monthly Tasks
- Reconcile all school bank accounts
- Prepare general journals (payroll, accruals, prepayments, inventory, depreciation)
- Maintain petty cash and fixed asset register
- Review and enter credit card expenses
- Lodge monthly BAS
- Reconcile balance sheet items (e.g., fixed assets, debtors, loans)
- Generate monthly financial reports with variance analysis for Principal
- Present summaries to School Advisory and Finance Committees
- Support Parents & Friends Committee with financial matters
Annual Tasks
- Generate and manage school fee billing, including Pre-Kindy and direct debits
- Prepare annual budget and staff contracts (with CEWA support)
- Complete year-end reconciliations, trial balance, and working papers
- Prepare End of Year Payroll Report and FBT Return (with CEWA support)
Ad Hoc Tasks
- Respond to payroll queries
- Provide budget advice to staff
- Follow up on overdue accounts
- Monitor cash flow and apply for overdrafts if needed
- Assist with phones and front desk as required
- Perform other duties as directed by the Principal
Qualifications Required
- Accounting/Bookkeeping Qualifications (desirable)
- AOS Training (desirable)
- Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School (or willingness to attain this).
- Senior First Aid (desirable)
