Our Client is a data annotation and labeling partner for teams building production-grade AI systems.
Context
Our Client is building Indonesian legal business entity and hiring their first finance person to build and run the entire local finance function solo. This is a founding-owner mandate, not a seat on an existing team — they set up the chart of accounts, close cadence, filing calendar, payroll, banking and payment flows from zero.
How the role is structured
One strong in-house owner who manages an outsourced tax/compliance firm for routine filings. We are not hiring someone to key SPT Masa all day — we're hiring the person who owns the outcome, handles the judgment-heavy work, and directs the vendors on the grind. That keeps the role at manager level rather than requiring a controller salary.
Who we're looking for
- 4–6 yrs experience; Brevet A & B minimum (Brevet C or ex-Big 4 / credible mid-tier KAP or CPA a strong plus)
- Firm time early (Big 4 or reputable KAP), then in-house — ideally the sole or lead finance person at a PT PMA
- Has personally handled a DJP tax audit or SP2DK response
- Energized by building a function from nothing, not just running an inherited one
Core scope
- Full tax compliance ownership: PPh 21/23/26, PPN + e-Faktur, SPT Masa & SPT Badan, Coretax
- Cross-border withholding + treaty application (DGT/CoD forms), transfer pricing awareness
- BKPM/OSS compliance incl. quarterly LKPM; payroll + BPJS Kesehatan/Ketenagakerjaan + THR accrual
- PSAK bookkeeping, IDR/USD FX handling, BI LLD reporting (parent funds the entity via intercompany loan)
- Contractor classification (PPh 21 vs 23, NPWP) and vendor/merchant contract review with tax optimization
Our workflow — non-standard
- We pay merchants and contractors via USD and crypto, future workflow to move this into just IDR bank transfers. Candidate must be comfortable with USD/crypto payment flows and current on their Indonesian tax treatment and build out pipeline for moving payment abroad to local
- This person builds and runs payment execution, so controls matter — segregation of duties and reconciliation discipline.
