Finance Manager – Operations (Business Partnering)
Salary circa £80k + Bonus + excellent benefits + hybrid working
The Role
A fantastic opportunity for a commercially focused Finance Manager to join a high-performing FP&A/Operations Finance team within a fast-paced, complex organisation.
You’ll act as the end-to-end finance lead for operational cost areas linked to customer management and disruption, partnering closely with operational teams to drive performance, control costs, and support strategic decision-making.
Reporting into a Senior Finance Manager and managing one direct report, this role offers strong exposure to senior stakeholders and involvement in key operational and financial initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted finance partner to operations, insights, and procurement teams
- Provide clear, actionable financial insight to support decision-making
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across finance and operations
Financial Planning & Management
- Lead budgeting and long-term strategic planning (including 5-year plans)
- Own monthly forecasting and cost performance tracking
- Support cost-saving initiatives and programme delivery
- Evaluate business cases and investment decisions
Performance & Analysis
- Deliver detailed variance analysis with clear commentary on risks and opportunities
- Provide insight to drive cost efficiency and operational performance
- Support scenario planning during periods of operational disruption
- Continuously improve reporting, processes, and data utilisation
Reporting & Control
- Oversee month-end processes, reporting packs, and financial commentary
- Ensure accuracy of financials in collaboration with accounting teams
- Support balance sheet integrity and compliance with internal policies
Leadership
- Manage and develop one direct report
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a high-performing team culture
About You
- Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 3+ years PQE
- Experience in a large, fast-paced, complex environment
- Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent analytical capability with strong attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with planning tools advantageous
- Proactive, commercially minded, and confident working with large datasets
- Passion for process improvement and automation
