About the Role

Atrium Research is looking to hire an Equity Research Associate (Metals & Mining) to join our team and support our two analysts focused on the mining sector. Candidates will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and clients in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Atrium Research is a leading equity research firm founded in 2022 which provides institutional quality company sponsored research on North American public equities using deep fundamental analysis. Our investment philosophy takes a long-term view on equities currently being overlooked by the market. Our research process emphasizes understanding the key performance metrics for each specific company, trustworthy management teams, and an in-depth valuation analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and edit research reports on small-cap equities in the metals and mining sector using fundamental analysis across initiation reports, research notes, research flashes, and thematic research reports
  • Develop and maintain in-depth financial models, including financial statement modelling, valuation, and comparative analysis
  • Collect and organize relevant data from various sources, including financial statements, industry reports, and market data
  • Complete ad-hoc research requests and support analysts in all aspects of the research process
  • Assist Atrium’s leadership team with certain operational tasks upon request

Qualifications and Skills

  • 0-3 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, mine engineering, or geology.
  • University degree with a focus in Geology, Mining Engineering, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • Strong accounting, financial modelling, and analytical skills
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several ongoing projects
  • Prior internship or coursework in finance or equity research is a plus
  • Genuine interest in financial markets and investment analysis
