Finance Manager
Your new company
This is an opportunity to join a well-established and growing organisation operating within the recycling and resource recovery sector, supporting the construction and infrastructure industry. With an annual turnover of $25 million, the business has built a strong reputation through operational excellence, scale, and a practical approach to delivering results.
Operating from a substantial site and continuing to invest in its capabilities, the organisation has experienced consistent growth over recent years. As part of its next phase, it is evolving its leadership structure to allow greater strategic focus at the senior level, creating this newly formed Finance Manager role.
Your new role
Reporting to the Business Manager, you will take full ownership of the finance function, managing end-to-end financial operations while leading a small team (AP & AR). This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys being close to the business and influencing day-to-day performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing accounts payable, receivable, and credit control
- Overseeing payroll processing and compliance obligations
- Preparing monthly financial reports, reconciliations, and analysis
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Ensuring statutory compliance (BAS, payroll tax, etc.)
- Driving improvements across financial systems, reporting, and processes
- Partnering with operational stakeholders to provide commercial insights
This role is site-based, 5 days per week, offering direct exposure to operations and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to business performance.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a hands-on and adaptable finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment. This role will suit someone who is comfortable taking initiative, working autonomously, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
You will bring:
- Experience in a similar Finance Manager or senior finance role
- Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills
- Exposure to payroll, compliance, and high-volume transactions
- A proactive mindset with the ability to improve processes and systems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage across operations
- CA/CPA qualification (preferred)
