Finance Director – Value Creation (Commercial FP&A)

This role sits at the center of the Finance organization as a strategic value creation partner across the business. The Finance Director will work closely with Finance, Commercial, and Operations leadership to identify, prioritize, and execute initiatives that drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and operational efficiency.

While a significant focus of the role is commercial FP&A, including sales analytics, pricing, and incentives, the mandate extends more broadly across the business to support enterprise-wide value creation. This individual will bring a finance-led lens to improving performance, enabling better decision-making, and driving accountability across key initiatives.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical horsepower with a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach, with the ability to both identify opportunities and help operationalize them.

Value Creation & Strategic Finance Orientation

The ideal candidate brings a value creation mindset within Finance, with experience identifying and driving initiatives that improve revenue, margin, and operational performance. They are comfortable moving beyond reporting into action, partnering with leadership to translate insights into measurable outcomes across the business.

Commercial FP&A Expertise (Core Pillar)

Candidates should have deep experience in commercial FP&A, including sales analytics, pricing strategy, and incentive design. They bring a strong commercial mindset and understand how to drive performance across pipeline, conversion, pricing, and productivity. Experience in distributed or branch-based models is highly relevant.

Sales Analytics & Performance Insights

Candidates have built and led sales analytics capabilities, often in environments where data is evolving. They develop reporting across pipeline, bookings, recurring revenue, and productivity KPIs, and generate actionable insights that improve sales execution and accountability.

Pricing & Revenue Optimization

Experience developing and enforcing pricing frameworks is important. Candidates should be able to implement governance, evaluate deal-level pricing, and improve realization through disciplined pricing analytics, balancing growth and margin.

Incentives & Sales Effectiveness

Candidates have designed and managed commission structures that align behavior with company objectives. They understand how to use incentives as a lever to drive performance and can ensure accuracy and transparency in execution.

Data, Systems, and Process Enablement

The successful candidate improves how the business operates through better data and processes. They are comfortable working with imperfect systems while driving improvements in data quality, reporting automation, and process standardization.

Hands-On, Execution-Oriented Mindset

This individual operates with ownership and urgency. They can move between strategy and execution, thrive in ambiguity, and are willing to roll up their sleeves to build, fix, and implement.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence

A strong collaborator across Finance, Commercial, and Operations, this person influences decisions without direct authority. They communicate clearly with both executives and field teams and drive alignment around key initiatives.

Private Equity & Performance Environment

Experience in PE-backed or high-growth B2B services environments is preferred. Candidates should understand performance-driven cultures where value creation, accountability, and pace are critical.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or value creation roles
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
  • Experience supporting or driving cross-functional initiatives
  • Deep understanding of sales performance drivers, pricing, and incentives
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with BI tools and CRM systems
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence across functions
