We are recruiting for a proposed bank in Mauritius (tentatively referred to as "M Bank") that is currently applying for a Full-Fledged Banking Licence. The bank is a limited liability company to be incorporated in Mauritius. It will operate exclusively in Segment B, providing foreign currency banking services for international clients, with no MUR (Mauritian Rupee) banking.
Looking for a CFO / Executive Director to help us lead the business and drive vision.
Target Client Segments:
- Licensed CFD/FX brokers
- Global Business Companies and investment funds
- High-Net-Worth (HNW) and Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) individuals across Africa and Asia
- Medium-to-large international corporates
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Manage financial reporting under IFRS, prepare management accounts, and deliver the Board financial reporting package.
- Capital Management: Monitor and report the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), leverage ratio, and capital buffers to the BoM.
- Prudential Returns: Oversee monthly assets & liabilities reporting, as well as quarterly CAR, LCR, NSFR, and large exposures reporting.
- ICAAP Coordination: Lead capital adequacy self-assessment and stress testing (starting from Year 2).
- Tax Management: Handle Segment A/B income allocation, Corporate Income Tax (CIT at 5%/15%), CSR/CCR levies, and VAT treatment.
Requirements
- Experience: Must have 10+ years of experience in banking finance, with strong expertise in IFRS and BoM prudential reporting.
- Qualifications: A qualified accountant (CA/CPA/ACCA) is highly preferred. While not a strict legal requirement, BoM expects the CFO to be suitably qualified.
