We are searching for a European Financial Controller for a worldwide banking group.
The subsidiary in Luxembourg is a familial growing working environment covering both corporate & private banking activities.
This European Financial Controller key position is needed to lead accounting operations, financial reporting, and financial governance for the bank. This is a senior leadership role with regional responsibility, overseeing multiple jurisdictions within the group European presence.
Responsibilities as European Financial Controller :
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for Luxembourg and other European entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
- Ensure financial statements and management reports are prepared in compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements across jurisdictions.
- Oversee holding company and intercompany accounting within the European structure.
- Partner with regional finance leads to strengthen controls, close discipline, and reporting quality.
- Oversee tax reporting and compliance across European entities in coordination with external advisors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulators (as applicable), including audit planning and issue resolution.
- Lead European input into annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
- Monitor performance against budget, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications as European Financial Controller :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Background in Corporate or Private Banking
- Extensive experience in accounting and financial reporting within financial services, preferably across multiple European jurisdictions.
- Strong technical expertise in IFRS and European statutory reporting requirements.
- Leadership, adaptable, analytical & communicative
- English is mandatory.
