Centennial Asset Management is an independent, privately owned boutique equity investment manager based in Sydney. Centennial manages The Level 18 Fund on behalf of a range of investors including foundations, family offices, private wealth groups and individual investors. 

The fund has a flexible, benchmark unaware investment mandate and has outperformed since inception (+13 yrs).

We are a performance-driven group. The principals and staff are significant investors in the fund, ensuring full alignment with our clients’ objectives.

The Fund’s long-term outperformance has primarily been driven via exposure to small and mid-cap. The investment objective of the Fund is to deliver unit holders growth over time and to preserve capital by avoiding significant drawdowns.

You will be joining a highly regarded, small investment team that values initiative, attention to detail and accountability. The role provides the opportunity to join an experienced investment team where your contribution directly supports portfolio performance.

About the Role

We are seeking an equity analyst to support the investment team reporting directing to the Fund’s Portfolio Managers.  

 

Working closely with the investment team you will conduct in-depth fundamental analysis on publicly listed companies and industries. The role involves identifying investment opportunities, assessing risks and contributing to investment decisions within the portfolio.

This role is ideal for someone with a background in equity analysis or financial statement analysis who would like to broaden their exposure to the Australian small cap investment universe. 

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Conduct fundamental listed company analysis, including financial statements, business models, competitive industry positioning and management quality.
  • Identify investment ideas and present recommendations to the investment team.
  • Monitor existing portfolio holdings and provide ongoing analysis and updates.
  • Organise and attend company management meetings, engage with brokers, and industry experts as required.
  • Track market developments, earnings results, corporate actions, and regulatory changes as they occur.
  • Potential trading/dealing responsibilities.  

Qualifications

You are detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You take pride in accuracy and ownership and enjoy working as part of a collaborative and motivated team.

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in the Australian equity market in either a buy-side or sell-side role. 
  • Work experience in the financial or accounting sector, with a preference for candidates with listed company and equity market experience.
  • Bachelor’s tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation skills
  • Solid understanding of capital markets and equity investment strategies
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with Iress, Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar platforms preferred.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to operate and communicate effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
