Position Overview:
The Director of Beauty & Target is responsible for all aspects of Beauty by Imagination’s Beauty Channel business at Target, Ulta, and Sephora. This role provides senior leadership for the Target, Ulta, and Sephora accounts, owning the strategic business plan, financial performance, and cross-functional execution across all Target and Beauty channels, including in-store and digital.
The Director will serve as the primary senior point of contact with Target, Ulta and Sephora and lead joint business planning, and drive execution of sales strategies to deliver revenue, profitability, and brand objectives. This role will lead and develop a team of two direct reports and partner closely with internal stakeholders to ensure best-in-class retailer execution and long-term growth. The ideal candidate will be based in Chicago or Minneapolis area and must have prior beauty haircare experience.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Account Leadership & Strategy
- Own the Target, Ulta and Sephora Beauty accounts and serve as the primary senior contact and company ambassador.
- Lead strategic business planning aligned to revenue, margin, and growth objectives.
- Maintain strong relationships with Target merchants and cross-functional partners.
- Serve as the internal expert on Target strategy, processes, and category dynamics.
Sales & Financial Management
- Deliver annual sales, profit, and contribution goals.
- Own forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning for Target, Ulta and Sephora.
- Lead assortment planning, pricing strategy, and promotions.
- Manage trade budgets and analyze ROI.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and develop two direct reports.
- Set performance objectives and development plans.
- Foster accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer Strategy teams.
- Collaborate on launches, merchandising, and retailer-specific activations.
Omnichannel & Digital Execution
- Lead omnichannel execution across stores and Target.com, Ulta.com, and Sephora.com.
- Oversee digital assortment, content, promotions, and compliance.
- Ensure MAP and advertised pricing alignment.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred.
- 10–12+ years of sales, account management, or commercial leadership experience.
- Prior experience managing beauty accounts such as Ulta and Sephora, as well as experience working with Target in the beauty haircare space, is required.
