About the Role
We are seeking a strategic as well as hands-on Accounting Controller with a CPA license, and a public accounting background to join our fast-growing consumer products company. This role is ideal for a finance leader who thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and is passionate about building scalable accounting operations to support rapid business growth and transformation. This person will lead a team of seven.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Lead all aspects of accounting operations: general ledger, inventory control, accounts payable, accounts receivable, detailed review of inventory purchases, customer incentive programs, transportation spends, and customs duties. Monitor treasury position and cash forecasting, debt and tax compliance (sales tax and annual tax returns).
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
- Prepare internal and external financial statements and reporting packages for executive leadership and lender.
- Manage annual audits and build strong relationships with external auditors and tax preparer.
- Setup and improve internal controls to prevent material weaknesses.
Strategic and Entrepreneurial Initiatives
- Lead accounting-related transformation projects that enhance scalability, efficiency, and internal controls.
- Act as a strategic finance partner to business units, helping evaluate and operationalize new product launches, sales channels, and market expansions.
- Help design and implement processes to support mergers, acquisitions, or business model evolutions.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team (domestic and international) of seven.
- Collaborate closely with FP&A, Supply Chain, Sales, E-commerce, and IT teams to ensure financial systems alignment and adequate processes to support business needs.
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to senior leadership, providing insights to drive data-driven decision-making.
Ideal Candidate Profile Required Qualifications
- CPA certification (active and in good standing).
- 8+ years of total progressive accounting experience.
Preferred Industry Experience
- Strong understanding of inventory, revenue recognition, and U.S. GAAP.

Compensation: $150,000 – $175,000 salary plus bonus
