Overview
RJTK Automotive Group is a family-owned motor retail group established in 1998. The Group employs approximately 250 people and operates 10 dealership locations across Lincolnshire and the North West of England, representing leading automotive brands including Vauxhall, Peugeot, Kia, Suzuki, BYD and Omoda Jaecoo.
As the business continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to join our leadership team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller looking to play a pivotal leadership role within a growing automotive retail group, working closely with senior leadership while strengthening financial processes, reporting and controls.
The Role
The Group Financial Controller will lead the day-to-day finance function while supporting strategic initiatives across the Group. The role will also involve regular travel across the Group’s dealership locations
Key responsibilities include:
• Leading, coaching and developing a finance team of 10
• Implementing a robust management information suite, including KPI dashboards and performance reporting
• Ensuring strong balance sheet control and financial governance across the Group
• Managing the monthly close process and board reporting
• Overseeing statutory reporting, audit and regulatory compliance
• Leading the budgeting and forecasting process across multiple entities
• Managing cashflow forecasting and treasury activity, including optimisation of surplus cash
• Driving automation, process improvement and finance systems enhancements
• Preparing and reviewing capital expenditure appraisals to support investment decisions
• Supporting FCA compliance and regulatory reporting requirements across the Group
• Working closely with the senior leadership team and external advisors
• Supporting acquisition activity, integration projects and strategic financial planning as the Group continues to expand
What we are looking for
We are looking for a hands-on finance leader who combines strong technical capability with commercial awareness and leadership skills.
You will likely have:
• Experience in a multi-entity, multi-site finance environment, ideally within motor retail or a similar sector
• Previous experience in a Group Financial Controller or senior finance leadership role
• Strong experience producing consolidated accounts across multiple companies
• Experience working within a fast-paced, growing organisation
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
Experience supporting M&A activity or finance systems implementation would be advantageous.
