Company: Signet Investments

Location: Carmel, CA

About Us

Signet is a multi-faceted organization spanning real estate investment, construction, consulting, and media through our family of companies—Signet Investments, Signet Consulting, Signet Realty, and Signet Media House. We run our business using the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), and we'll teach you the tools and processes during onboarding. What we can't teach is character—and that's what matters most to us.

Our Core Values

These aren't just words on a wall. They define who we are, and we're looking for someone who already lives them:

Leadership — Be a go-getter. Think things through. Own your work completely.

Hunger — Be passionate in your drive and commitment. Your work isn't just a task—it's your craft.

Community — We're a family. We support each other, respect each other, and help each other grow.

Wow — Go above and beyond. Exceed expectations for clients, investors, and each other—in creative output, in returns, and in results.

Assertiveness — Have thick skin. Navigate conflict well. Take care of business without hesitation.

If these values resonate with you, keep reading. We're building something special, and we consider this a long-term relationship.

The Role

As Controller of Finance & Construction, you'll own two critical departments and report directly to our Founder. You'll work alongside our Integrator, who manages overall operations, while you drive the financial and construction sides of the business with precision and accountability.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Managing and leading the Finance and Construction departments, including overseeing team members in each area. Building and maintaining custom profit and loss statements from our general ledger and presenting them to investors on a monthly basis. Analyzing new real estate deals and investment opportunities through detailed spreadsheet modeling. Monitoring construction budgets, expenses, schedule of values, and timelines—flagging cost overruns, identifying savings, and forecasting capital needs. Overseeing our bookkeeper to ensure accuracy and timeliness in all accounting. Gathering departmental metrics and communicating them upward to leadership and downward to your teams. Tracking weekly action items and ensuring they align with our 90-day goals, one-year plan, three-year picture, and ten-year vision. Holding your people accountable to deadlines and milestones—consistently and assertively. Using our internal assessment tools to make sure the right people are in the right seats. Developing and refining standard operating procedures for your departments, documented in our company playbook. Identifying important financial ratios and metrics across departments, including marketing, and surfacing insights that drive better decisions.

What You Bring

Strong spreadsheet and financial analysis skills, including experience building P&L statements and deal models. Comfort managing people and holding them accountable. The ability to organize information clearly and present it to leadership and investors. A proactive mindset—you don't wait to be told what needs attention. Willingness to learn our systems, tools, and processes. Experience in construction management or real estate finance is a strong plus.

This is a role for someone who wants to own their departments, not just manage them. If you're ready to be part of a growing family of companies and help scale something meaningful, we'd love to hear from you.
