Overview
The Controller leads all accounting operations and financial reporting for a mission-driven nonprofit. This role ensures strong financial management, compliance, and supports leadership with clear, actionable insights.
Responsibilities
- Oversee general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end close
- Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
- Manage annual audit and Form 990 process
- Maintain internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support grant accounting and reporting
- Supervise accounting staff and partner with leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7+ years of accounting experience; 3+ in leadership
- Nonprofit/fund accounting experience required
- Experience with audits and financial reporting
