Chief Operating Officer – Chicago
A global design-led manufacturing and execution business is seeking an experienced Chief Operating Officer to lead large-scale operational delivery across international production, supply chain, and execution teams.
This executive leadership role will oversee multi-site operations, planning, sourcing, logistics, project execution, and vendor management internationally.
The successful candidate will play a key role in scaling operational performance, improving delivery efficiency, and driving margin-focused execution within a fast-paced, high-complexity environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead global operational execution across manufacturing, planning, supply chain, logistics, and delivery functions
- Drive operational strategy focused on scalability, efficiency, quality, and profitability
- Oversee cross-functional execution teams including production, sourcing, project delivery, and vendor management
- Implement KPI-driven performance management and continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop streamlined operational processes, SOPs, and scalable workflows across multiple regions
- Partner closely with commercial, finance, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure seamless project delivery
- Manage international vendor and manufacturing relationships to optimise cost, quality, and delivery performance
- Support operational transformation initiatives including automation, systems integration, and process improvement
- Build and lead high-performing teams across geographically distributed locations
Requirements
- 15+ years of senior operational leadership experience within complex manufacturing or execution environments
- Proven success managing multi-site or global operations with full operational accountability
- Strong experience within high-mix, project-based, or engineered manufacturing environments
- Background overseeing supply chain, sourcing, production, logistics, and operational planning functions
- Experience leading large cross-functional teams across multiple regions
- Demonstrated ability to improve operational efficiency, cost control, delivery performance, and scalability
- Strong systems and process orientation, including ERP and data-driven operational management
- Experience working across North America and Asia manufacturing ecosystems highly preferred
- Executive-level leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities
Preferred Background
Experience within retail execution, branded environments, consumer products, experiential manufacturing, displays, fixtures, or related production-led industries will be advantageous.
